My 60th birthday 2005

Jon, Brian, Peter and Sarah made a surprise visit to Andover for my 60th birthday. Ann had arranged a table at the Plough Inn in Longparish for lunch. Jon and Ann had roast beef, Peter and Sarah had scampi and chips and Brian and myself had beef stroganoff.

Jon and Ann were beaten by the amount of roast beef on their plates. Jon still found room for a rolly poly pudding, Jon and Brian had the last two portions. Peter, Sarah and myself had ice cream. Ann as usual had no pudding but did pop out for a cigarette.

60 candles

Later in the evening we had a ham and salad tea. My birthday cake was too small for all the necessary candles so Ann positioned 60 candles on a cake plate to form the characters 60.

The heat was quite intense, but one good blow put them all out. I think Peter helped.

Three old gentlemen
