We arrived in Perth on time. Christine and David were waiting for us and we were soon on our way back to Christines House. There we were greeted by Troy, Oliver and Haden. The two lads had certainly grown since we last saw them.

Christine, David and Troy cooked dinner. We went to bed about 22.00 totally worn out.

First thing we went to Oliver's school assembly were his year performed various sketches, some were quite humorous. The headmaster also handed out various awards for good behavior and performance in different subjects. Oliver both performed in a sketch, sang in a group, announced the start of the award ceremony and also received an award for an assignment well done.

Later we picked up the car then went in to Cannington to have lunch and buy a sim card for the phone.

Sunday 5th Oct

We arrived at Michael's in the late morning. After lunch we played Pool.

For dinner Michael barbecued a couple of leg of lamb butterflies, (the leg of lamb is boned but rather than being rolled up in to a traditional joint, it is laid out flat for barbecuing). Accompanying the lamb were roast potatoes, roast sweet potatoes and broccoli.

Later we played some more rounds of Pool.

Monday 6th Oct

Had a quiet morning then went to Rockingham for a touch of retail therapy. Ann chose a new handbag as an early birthday present from Nola and Micheal. She also found a tee shirt with a colour matching a previous shirt.

Later Nola and Edward walked down to the beach, about 312 metres away from the house, and took a few pictures.

Michael arrived home from work earlyish and cooked dinner, chicken, carbonara, peas and carrots.

After dinner Brandon and Edward played Pool. After five matches we went indoors as we began to feel the cold, particularly with our hands.

Tuesday 7th Oct

We went out shopping in the early afternoon.

Ann cooked dinner, a beef stroganoff while Michael made a complementary cauliflower mash.

It was too cold to play Pool, we watched a little TV and Edward had his ears cleaned using a burning candle technique.

Wednesday 8th Oct

Returned to Christine's mid morning. Traffic was a bit stop/go on the last 10 km prior to the Roe highway turn off.

Had a quiet day. Dinner was barbecued steak, sausage and potato salad.

Later we watched the red moon eclipse from the drive. It was obscured slightly by a hazy cloud at full eclipse, but clear a little later. Photography was difficult as we did not have a tripod.
